Jack Alexander James (1919- ), a geologist, received his Ph. D. from the Missouri School of Mines in 1951. He was employed by the Missouri Geological Survey (1946-1952). He entered private mining employment as a geologist with American Metal Company (1952-1955), and later managed the exploration division of its successor, American Metal Climax, Inc.
